Managed by the Department of Education, we are a co-educational institution providing quality education for students in grades 9 through 12, with English as the medium of instruction. Since our establishment in 1935, Govt. HSS Larnoo has been dedicated to providing accessible and quality education in the Vailoo block of Anantnag. [4] We have grown from a humble beginning to a significant educational institution in the region, adapting and evolving to meet the needs of our students and the community. Pathways to Success
Science
The Science stream is ideal for students with a strong interest in scientific principles and their applications. It is divided into medical (PCB) and non-medical (PCM) groups. [13] Core subjects include Physics and Chemistry, with a choice between Biology and Mathematics. [1, 2] This stream builds a strong foundation for careers in medicine, engineering, research, and technology. [2, 5]
Arts (Humanities)
The Arts stream offers a diverse range of subjects that explore human society, culture, and history. [7] Compulsory subjects often include History, Geography, Political Science, and English. [3] Students can also choose from a variety of optional subjects like Sociology, Psychology, and Economics, preparing them for careers in civil services, law, journalism, and more. [3, 4, 6]
Vocational Streams(Tourism and IT/ITES)
Our vocational streams are designed to provide students with industry-ready skills. We offer specialized training in both Tourism and IT/ITeS (Information Technology enabled Services). The Tourism and Hospitality program combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience for careers in travel and hospitality management. The IT/ITeS stream equips students with essential digital competencies, including computer operations, data entry, and office productivity software, preparing them for roles in the technology and administrative sectors. Physics Lab
Our Physics Lab is equipped with a wide range of apparatus to facilitate a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles of physics. Students engage in hands-on experiments to explore concepts in mechanics, optics, electricity, and magnetism. [9, 10] The lab provides essential equipment such as vernier calipers, screw gauges, voltmeters, ammeters, and optical benches. [9, 19]

Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry Lab provides a practical environment for students to learn about chemical reactions, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and the properties of different substances. The lab is well-stocked with a variety of glassware, chemicals, and safety equipment. [11, 20] Students conduct experiments using beakers, test tubes, pipettes, and Bunsen burners under the guidance of our experienced faculty. [15, 17]

Botany & Zoology Lab
Our combined Botany and Zoology lab is equipped for the detailed study of plant and animal life. The lab houses a variety of specimens, models, charts, and microscopes to facilitate hands-on learning. [26, 27] Students can perform dissections, observe microscopic organisms, and study the anatomy and physiology of different species, fostering a deeper appreciation for the biological sciences. Tourism Lab
The Tourism Lab is a dedicated space designed to provide students with practical training in the field of tourism and hospitality. [30] The lab is equipped with maps, models of tourist attractions, and a mock travel desk to simulate real-world scenarios. [12, 22] This hands-on approach helps students develop essential skills for a career in the tourism industry. [29, 30]
